You touched a raw nerve with this.<BR/><BR/>The problem may be how the word 'job' has been defined conventionaly. Jobs are seen as the activity performed by individuals to earn their wages. But is that it? There’s got to be more to a job right? How a job gets done and what is the right way differs from person to person, and is influenced by their manager. A good manager and leader brings more consistency than a not-so-good manager. <BR/><BR/>Perhaps a better way is to view a job as more of a 'function'. A function is defined as a relation that is dependent on others. For IT admins to succeed in the today's networked economy, they are dependent on others to make them successful. An indicator of their effectiveness is how well they are colalborating with others and how much those others are complaining. <BR/><BR/>Anyway Im also interested in your thoughts.
